Randle, Vivian May (nee Townsend), 82 of Truro, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2009 at the Colchester Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax on August 15, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Sylvanus and Ola (Grover) Townsend of Halifax. Vivian was a homemaker for most of her life, devoting all of her time to her family. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gideon Duncan “Dunc†Randle; daughter Carol (Lubin) Bourque; sons Duncan Gerard “Gerry†(Susan), Ricky (Gayle), Barry & Blair Randle, all of the Truro area; grandchildren, Blair (Karen) Bourque, Halifax, Carla (Jamie) Lavigne, Saint John, N.B., Monica (Cory) Thompson, Calgary, Mary Randle, Toronto, and Stephanie Willigar, Truro; great grandchildren, Carter Thompson, Calgary, Owen and Rosemary Lavigne, both of Saint John, NB, Dayton and Dareus Willigar, both of Truro; brothers, Gordon (Maxine) Townsend, Annapolis, Ronnie (Lorna) Townsend, Windsor. Vivian was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Sabiston, Audrey Falkner, Marion Oxner and brother Douglas Townsend. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 pm. and a Celebration of Vivian’s life will take place on Friday, March 20th at 11:00 am, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with the Reverend Gary Yetman officiating. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery, Truro. Reception to follow in the funeral home.
