EDITH “EDIE” ROSALIE (nee VIKLUND) HENRY
It is with great sadness that our family is announcing the sudden and unexpected passing of our mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, and sister, Edith Rosalie (nee Viklund) Henry on Friday, March 13th, 2009 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Mom passed away peacefully at approximately 11:30 p.m., surrounded by a number of her family and friends. Mom was born June 15th, 1952 at the Holy Family Hospital to Alice (nee Ek) and Karl Walter Viklund. Mom grew up in Buffalo Narrows, SK and attended High School in Prince Albert, SK. Mom met her loving husband Harold Joseph Henry in Prince Albert, where they soon married in 1971. Mom and dad continued to reside in Prince Albert for several years where they raised three sons, Keith, Kevin, and Kerry. Mom is survived by her loving husband Harold Joseph Henry of Buffalo Narrows, SK; her three sons - Kerry Henry of Saskatoon, SK, Kevin (Sharon) Henry of Saskatoon, SK and Keith (Kimberley) Henry of Vancouver, BC; her brother David (Theresa) Viklund of Deer Ridge, SK, and her mother Alice Betty Viklund of Canwood, SK; her six grandchildren Sarah, Drake, Ciaran, Dayne, Matthew, and Addisen, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to name. Mom was a very entrepreneurial spirit. Her life was symbolized by her ability to take on various challenges with enthusiasm and drive. This spirit included careers as a social worker, police officer, small business owner and artist. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from River Park Memorial Chapel, 301 River Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Father Clifford Tremblay officiated. The family also wants to sincerely thank Royal University Hospital, in particular ward 5000, for their compassion and special care of our mother during this difficult time.
