It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Georgina MacDonald, 80, of Glace Bay on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and John D. MacDonald.
Georgina was employed with Shoppers Drug Mart working in the office in Glace Bay.
Georgina is survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret (MacQuarrie) MacDonald, Margaret (Penny) MacDonald, Bernette (MacCormick) MacDonald, Wellina (White) MacDonald and Eva (MacKenzie) MacDonald. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special niece, Patricia and nephews, Donald and Eric Adams.
Georgina was predeceased by sisters, Catherine MacIntyre, Deanie MacDonald, Loretta Adams, and Rachael; brothers, Donnie (Jeff), Tom, Jim, Melvin, and Bob.
There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place with burial at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520.
Donations in Georgina’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one’s choice.
