The death occurred peacefully, with family by his side, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Thursday, March 19, 2009, of Patrick Gauthier of North Rustico, age 78. Patrick was the son of the late John Emile and Geneva Gauthier and is survived by his brothers and sisters, Noel (Isabel) of Alberta; Jeanette, North Rustico; Stuart (Margaret), Ontario; Mary (Benette) Doucette, Rusticoville; Rilly, North Rustico; Vivian (Joe) Smith, Massachusetts, U.S.A. and Genny (Noel) Gallant, Rusticoville. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Garry “Sunny” Deforge; sister-in-law, Jaunita McIntosh; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends in P.E.I. He will also be remembered by special friend, Lillian Woodcock and many other friends in Matheson, Ontario. Besides his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his wife, Delores (nee Deforge) and brothers-in-law, Joe Gauthier and Hubert and Billy Deforge. Resting at the McNeill Room of Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, for visitation on Sunday, March 22 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Monday, March 23, at 10:30 a.m. Due to severe allergies please refrain from wearing scented products.
