Passed away in a tragic helicopter accident on the Grand Banks on March 12, 2009, Derrick Mullowney of Bay Bulls, age 51 years. Leaving to mourn his absence from their lives are his wife Roxanne (nee Cronin) and his pride and joy, his daughter Jillian; his brothers: Harold (Sharon), Wade (Mary), Frankie; sisters: Karen Denine (Bobby) and Ramona Tobin (Bren); along with twelve nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bernard and Dorothy and brother Bernie; also leaving to mourn are his mother-in-law Clemmie Cronin; sisters-in-law: Patricia Cronin, Carolanne (Paul Turpin) and brother-in-law Tom Cronin. He leaves his buddies on the Sea Rose and on other Rigs on which he worked and the staff of East Coast Catering; also leaving with good memories are his friends: Trevor, Bill, Bobby, Paddy, Walter and Donald. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, Wednesday, March 18, and Thursday, March 19 from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial from Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Bay Bulls on Friday, March 20 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Loretta R.C. Cemetery, Bay Bulls. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations to the Mental Health Association.
