Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, on March 17th, 2009, Arthur D. Pond of Gambo - age 81; predeceased by parents Stephen and Nellie Pond, sister Pearl Snelgrove, brothers-in-law Allan Efford and Herbert Snelgrove, and sister-in-law Daisy Pond. Leaving to mourn his wife of 59 years, Ena (nee Lane); two daughters Marilyn Tucker and Gwen (Boyne) Drover; two sons Larry (Debra) and Craig (Darlene) Pond; seven grandchildren Kris (Jocelyn) and Karla Tucker; Richard (Nancy), Joshua (Amanda) and Janna (Jason Orr) Drover; Daniel and Caleb Pond; one great-granddaughter Andrea Tucker; one brother Murray Pond and four sisters Marion Pond, Ada Efford, Maisie Pond and Betty (George) Badcock; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service took place at 2 pm, Friday March 20th, 2009, at the Salvation Army Citadel in Gambo. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
