The death occurred peacefully at Beach Grove Home on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, of Mr. Willard M. Betts of Beach Grove Road, Charlottetown, in his 85th year, Veteran of the Second World War. Beloved husband of Vertis Betts (nee Hall) of Charlottetown, and dear father of Terry (Cheryl) Betts of Maple Ridge, B.C. He will also be lovingly remembered by three grandsons, Kaleb, Chad and Luke, and sister Janice (Frank) Zwarich of Toronto, Ont. Predeceased by his parents, Ruben and Roseanne (MacDougall) Betts; sisters, Mae Stewart and Cynthia MacDonald, and brother Arthur. Resting at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Also during the funeral service members of branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a veteran’s tribute service. Interment at a later date in the family plot at New Dominion Cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributions in Willard’s memory may be made to the Alzheimers Society.
