Passed peacefully away at Agnes Pratt Home, St. John's, where she resided for the past six months, Shirley Yvonne Roome, formerly of Botwood, Grand Falls-Windsor, Corner Brook and St. John's and originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by beloved husband Bob Roome, March 22, 2006; parents Zelma Amelia (Gates) MacDonald and Charles Hibbert MacDonald. Leaving with fond memories, her sister, Nita MacDonald of Dartmouth; children: Rebecca Roome (Doug Smith), St. John's, Sue Roome (Peter Fontaine), Mount Pearl, Graham Roome, St. John's, Peter Roome (Judy), Grand Falls-Windsor; grandchildren: Jeremy Smith; David, Becky, Robin, Colin and Stuart Fontaine; Brian and Megan Roome; and Pascale and Matthew Roome; and other family and friends. At Shirley's request, cremation has taken place. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Shirley and her love of family, sailing, reading and gardening may be made to a charity of one's choice.
