Lloyd Kendell Spencer

(October 8th, 1937 - February 10th, 2008) It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Spencer announce his passing at the Health Science Center on February 10th, 2008 in the presence of his loving family. Predeceased by parents Herb and Ellie, brother Herbie, father-in-law Fred Pritchett (Pobo). Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Kate, two sons Shawn (Darlene), Kelly (Michelle), daughter Nicole, his cherished grandchildren, Kayley, Cameron and Brady, sister Sheila Butler (John), Claudine Tucker, and Cora Spencer, mother-in-law Bonnie Pritchett, brother-in-law Gary Pritchett (Bev), sister-in-law Judy Loder (Eli); as well as many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Special friends Tom and Norma Dawe and Edgar and Shirley Mudge, his canine buddy Uresi. Lloyd was born in Bay D'Espoir and spent the majority of his career as a professor of English at Memorial University. The family would like to acknowledge the devotion and care of Dr. Mark Stefanelli. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., on Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 12 noon, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service from Church of The Ascension, 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 14th, 2008, cremation to follow.
