LINDER – HAWTHORNE, Florence Elaine. Mrs. Florence Linder-Hawthorne of Cabri, SK, beloved wife of the late Mr. Harold Linder, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the age of 83 years. Florence leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Marian Mastel, Dianne Hilmoe, Judy (Bob) MacLaren, Holly Linder, and Melody Linder; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Harry Rolfe and Lynn Rolfe; one sister, Darlene (Leonard) Linder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Harold, Florence was predeceased by her parents, John and Erma Rolfe; two sons-in-law, Ben Mastel and Wayne Hilmoe; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two brothers. Florence was a long-time resident of Abbey, SK, until moving to Medicine Hat. She worked for the Medicine Hat Police Service as a Police Matron from 1979 to 1987. Florence was a great cook. She also enjoyed fishing, playing crib, doing needlepoint, and listening to old-time music – at one time, she loved to dance to old-time music. A private graveside Service was held in the Abbey Cemetery, Abbey, SK, on Sunday, March 15, 2009.
