Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family, at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, March 24th, 2009, age 65 years. Predeceased by his mother and father, Daphne and Wellesley Smith and sister Florence Chafe. Left with fond and loving memories, his devoted wife and best friend Betty (Evans); children: Dawn (Fred) Hanames, Robert (Paula) Smith and Wanda Smith; his precious grandchildren: Robert, Stephen, Samantha, Angelene, Jaclayn, Rebecca, Erin, Robyn, Evan and Shannon; two great-grandchildren: Alicia and Damien; sister: Kay (Herb) Sheppard; special sister-in-law Rita Evans; sister-in-law Lydia (Frank) Seymour; brothers-in-law: Sidney (Mary) Evans and Mark Chafe, loving companions Mickey and Mittens; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 12 noon - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service on Friday, March 27th at 10 a.m. from St. Nicholas’ Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Lung Association.
