Colin Rodney Pike

(August 20, 1926) I f you can force your heart and nerveand sinewTo serve your turn long after theyare gone....And so hold on when there is nothingin you Except the will which says to them "HOLD ON!" Kipling Passed away on September 2, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn: his wife of 56 years, Rosaleen Garland Pike. His devoted daughter Desiree and son Marc (Shannon), much loved granddaughters Shara and Gina (Brian) and the pride and joy of his senior years his only grandson Benjamin. Sisters Maxine (Ted) Pitcher, New Hampshire; Ruby Carter, Quebec; Daphne Bordeaux, Georgia; Doreen (Bill) Ryan, St. John's, NL; brother-in-law John (Doris) Garland, California; sister-in law Marina (Arch) MacDonald, Spaniards Bay, NL. Pre-deceased by infant son, Rodney; brother Arthur and his wife Dorothy, Nova Scotia; and brother-in-law Frank Cater, Quebec. Also a large circle of very special cousins and friends, including his hunting buddies, poker pals, fellows on the bowling team, the gang at the RCAF club, the dart league and all of his generous, supportive neighbours especially Dr. and Mrs. Chuck Hobeika. Sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Centre. In lieu of flowers we would like to continue Colin's spirit of giving by asking you to do a good deed for another person in his memory.Friends and family may pay respects at Barrett's Funeral Home on September 4, 2008. At Colin's request there will be no funeral service. Friends are invited to share their memories of Colin with his family at a Memorial gathering at Barrett's on September 5 at 7:00 pm.
