Frances Margarite Brimicombe, age 70, of Twin Rivers Trailer Court, Stellarton, passed away Monday, March 23rd, 2009, at the QEII, Halifax Infirmary Site.
Born in Catalina, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late William and Hazel (Sheppard) Wicks.
Frances was a resident of Stellarton for the past 23 years. She was a former employee of Edward’s Fine Foods and a member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and reading.
Frances is survived by her husband,Walter; daughters: Linda Wicks, ON; Judith Mouland, Moncton; Kimberly Collins, Stellarton; son, Chris Collins, PEI; step-children: Mark Brimicombe, Jennifer Robinson, Julie Brimicombe and Meredith Brimicombe, all of Nova Scotia. Francis will be sadly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Edward, Lester, William Jr., Angus, David, Terry, Paul and Jack Wicks, all of Newfoundland; sisters, Debbie Young, Edmonton; and Agnes Mercer, Newfoundland; also by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Mary MacLaughlin.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Public memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Our Lady Of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Burial at a later date.
Donations in memory of Frances may be made to a charity of one’s choice. A reception will follow the service in the Sister Catherine Steele Center.
