Ellen “Faye” (MacCallum) MacKay, 94, Truro passed away peacefully March 26, 2009 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in MacCallum’s Settlement, Colchester County, she was a daughter of the late Irving and Lily (Johnson) MacCallum. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Faye had a very out-going personality and enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. She was an excellent seamstress and an avid card player. Faye was a member of the Brunswick Street United Church and UCW. She is survived by daughters, Freda (Alfred) Morrison, Truro Heights, Marilyn (Evan “Bud”) Donnelly, Canton, Georgia; son, Aaron (Schele`) North River; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Fred; sisters, Edith, Violet, Lillian; brothers, Hartley, Lorne, Victor, Foster, Herman and Carmen; daughter-in-law, Bonita MacKay; son-in-law Oswald MacKay. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. followed with a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. David Lutes officiating. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses Home Care or the Brunswick Street United Church.
