Following a long and courageous battle with cancer, Grace MacLeod, age 76 of Orwell, died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince Edward Home on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents, Glen and Margaret Campbell; two brothers, Rollie and William (in infancy). She is survived by her devoted husband, George; and loving family: sons, Clayton (Debby), Victor (Linda) both of Orwell; daughters, Valerie of Vernon Bridge and Susan (Tony) McQuillan of Village Green; nine grandchildren, Shanda (Jimmy), Crystal (Chris), Anthony (Pam), Joelene (Matt), Michael (Katie), Vicki (Shane), Grace, Kevin (Jeanna) and Nathan (Miranda); four great-grandchildren, Carter, Cameron, Shane and Brandon. Grace is also survived by sister, Glenda (Daniel) McNeil of Scarborough, Ontario; brother, Roger (Brenda) Campbell of Liverpool, N.S.; and sister-in-law, Blanche Campbell. Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Thursday, April 2, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, at St. Andrew's United Church, Vernon Bridge, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Laurie MacCuish officiating. Interment will follow at Orwell Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the IWK Children's Hospital or the Hospice Palliative Care would be appreciated.
