Suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 of Mr. J.F. Fred Nelligan of Charlottetown, and formerly of Tignish, in his 67th year. Survived by his common-law spouse Hazel Anna Ferneyhough (nee Jones), of Charlottetown; his daughter, Michelle Hirtle, of Summerside; grandsons, Murray and Joshua; stepchildren, Shirleyann (Roger) Sentner, Lynda (Paul) Pineau, Larry Shea, Donnie Shea, Rosemary Shea, Maureen Morrison, Blair Shea, Tony Shea, Byron Shea and Steven Shea; 14 step-grandchildren; sisters, Freda (Fred) Hackett, Winnifred (John) Mullen and his twin sister, Viola (Roy) Mouland; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John and Isabella (Perry) Nelligan; brothers and sisters, Frances Michelowiski, Edward, Emily MacLeavie, Bernard, Patricia Burke and Marion Mullen; stepsons, Harold and Gordon Shea. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home from where the funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Interment at a later date in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the P.E.I. Cancer Treatment Centre.
