Bernard ‘Kelly’ Devoe, 84, of 2 Devoe St., Sydney Mines, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born on Sept. 28, 1924, in Alder Point to the late George and Margaret (LeBlanc) Devoe.
He was a member of St. Pius X parish, Sydney Mines.
He is survived by his sister, Emma Jobes, Groves Point; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Mary, his brothers, Garfield, George, John, William and Raymond and two children in infancy.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Royal Canadian Army. He was a member of Breton Branch 008, Royal Canadian Legion, Sydney Mines, and a member of the Sydney Mines Seniors and Pensioners Club.
There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place under the care of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A funeral service will be held at later date. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bras d’Or.
