HURLEY, Margaret Ann, age 64, of Maccan, passed away at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorthy (Meade) Dunlop.

Marg worked for many years at the Gables Nursing Home prior to retirement. A very active member of the Maccan Legion, she enjoyed cards, bingo and dancing. She was always there to help those in need and will be truly missed in her community.

Marg will be sadly missed by her husband of 46 years, Ross Hurley; 3 sons, Mark, Clayton and Layton (Barb); brothers and sisters, Betty, Phyllis, Rose, Lynn, Lester, Joe, Cecil, Donnie, Billy, Jimmy, Lily and Kenny; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant brother, John.

Marg's remains have been entrusted into the care of the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, Amherst (902-667-8777) with visitation Friday from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Furlong Jones Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 2 pm, Rev. Bob Mack officiating. Burial in the Maccan Cemetery in the spring.
