Aged 49 years of King Street, Springhill, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 in the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of Marilyn J. (Henwood) Michelson, Springhill, and the Late Charles D. G. "Sonny" Michelson. Patti attended Springhill High School and Mount Saint Vincent University, Halifax, graduating in 1981. She spent her entire working life as a teacher in the Springhill Elementary schools, teaching mostly grade three class. She was an avid bowler, bingo, dart and yahtzee player, loved animals, having a good time, laughing, and was devoted to her family and friends. Besides her mother, she is survived by brother, Wayne (Sheila) Michelson and sister, Deborah "Debbie" (Richard) Dobson both of Springhill; special nieces and nephews; step daughter, Tammy (Paul) McNutt of New Minas and step son, Ronald Porter of Amherst; two step grandsons, Bryce and Mason. She was predeceased by her husband Terry Porter in 2007; two infant brothers, Charles Bernard and Mark Andrew. Visitation was held 1 - 3 pm Saturday, July 26, 2008 followed immediately at 3:00 pm by a Memorial Funeral Service with The Reverend Elizabeth Davies officiating, both held in A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
