Aged 79 years of Lisgar Street, Springhill, passed away Monday, July 21, 2008 in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the Late Harold and Catherine (Pushie) Cruickshank. During his early working career, he was employed with George English Transfer Co., and Eastern Woodworkers both in New Glasgow, with the Truro Police Department and the Federal Penitentiary Service in Dorchester, N. B. and Springhill for 28 1/2 years until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed reading, camping, hunting, cards, games, hockey, basketball, sports and his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife the former Isabel Morris; daughters, Cathy of Truro and Heather of Oxford; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason of Truro and Samantha and Kristen of Oxford; brother, Hugh (Betty) Cruickshank of Truro; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Ellen. Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. A Graveside Committal Service will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill, with The Reverend Brieanna Andrews officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
