Sackville, N.B.- George William Cushing, age 84, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2008 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Pensac, N.B. on August 5, 1923, he was the son of the late William and Barbara (Boyce) Cushing. Bill will be sadly missed by his son Scott (Nancy) Cushing of Williams Lake, B.C.; sister Edith (David) Wright of Riverview, N.B.; granddaughter Lisa of Surrey, B.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen Cushing. Arrangements were entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation as requested by the family. A memorial service was held at Campbell’s Funeral Home on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Patti Blundell officiating. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville held a service before the memorial service. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
