Margaret E. Goodwin, age 91, of British Settlement, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. Born in British Settlement, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie (Sterling) Thompson. She will be sadly missed by her sons, Ronald (Dorothy) of Shenandoah, PA, Cedric (Beulah), British Settlement, William, Oshawa, ON and Allan (Pat) of Baie Verte; four daughters, Brenda (Brian) Johnson, British Settlement, Sharon (Eldon) Crosthwaite, Dorchester, Sandra (Bruce) Leard, Timber River and Janice Tower (Billy Phinney), British Settlement; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Thompson of Oshawa, ON, and Shirley Purdy of Sackville. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Vance; one daughter, Shirley; and three sons, Vance, Kenneth and Leon; by sisters, Isabel, Helen, May and Viola; and by one grandson, Winston Goodwin. Arrangements were entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville where visiting hours took place on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008. The funeral service was held at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at 2 p.m., Rev. Father Kevin Stockall officiating. Burial followed in the Westcock Cemetery.
