Sackville, N.B.- It is with sadness that the family of Kathleen (Stone) Peacock announce her passing on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Sackville Special Care Home. Kathleen was 103 years of age. Born in Westcock, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Cynthia (Sears) Stone. Kathleen was a nursing graduate from Highland Vew Regional Hospital in 1925 and went on to work in Amherst, N.S., Port Elgin, N.B. and finally in Sackville from where she worked from 1959 until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the Sackville Senior Citizens Club and was a long-time resident of Kingwood Manor in Sackville. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her son Malcolm Peacock of Hillsborough, N.B.; three grandchildren, Tim (Fiona) Peacock of Wolfville, N.S., Nancy (Gerald) LaForest of Riverview, N.B. and Kathryn (Darrel) Morice of Sackville, N.B.; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Justin, Emogen, Ethan, Abbey and William. She was predeceased by her husband William Herman Peacock. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or memorial service as requested by the family. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, N.B., with Rev. Jeffrey Murray officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital or to the charity of one’s choice.
