Port Elgin, N.B. – The death of M. Elsie MacDonald, of Port Elgin, formerly of Saint John, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008. She was 85 years of age. Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the late Alphie and Mary Ella (Forest) Legere. She was a member of the St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church in Port Elgin. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Amelia (Larry Rockwell) MacDonald, of Port Elgin; grandson, Shawn; two great-grandsons, Michael and Jeremy; brother, Cyril (Pauline) of Moncton, and sister, Amelia Legere, New Westminster, B.C.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; brothers, Fred, George, Gerald, and Albert; sisters, Kay Legere, Rosie Bourque, Beatrice Read, and Delphine Zinck. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home in Port Elgin, where visiting hours will be held today (Oct. 8) from St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m., with Father Michael Toner officiating. Burial will be in St. Clement’s Parish Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation may do so to PEDVAG.
