Sackville, N.B. - The death of Robert “Bud” Doncaster, 76, occurred suddenly at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, February 29, 2008. Born in Sackville, he was the son of the late Frederick and Pauline (Lawrence) Doncaster. An active community member, Bud was a life-long farmer known especially for his Antique Farm Field Day open to everyone during the Sackville Fall Fair. He loved restoring and showing antique farm machinery. Bud was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church. Bud will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Florence (Wheaton); three sons, Daniel (Ann) and Brian (Marlene), both of Sackville, Frederick (Kelli) of Grand Bay-Westfield; four daughters, Debbie (Malcolm) Fisher and Angela (Gordon) Carlisle, both of Sackville, Kimberly (Stephen) Bowes of Shediac, and Krista (Brad) Schmidt of Maple Ridge, B.C.; two brothers, Donald (Janet) of TN and Bliss (Edith) of Sackville; three sisters, Anna Mason of Louisiana, Joyce Wakefield, ON, Amy Weaver, IL; 19 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by a brother, and by three brothers-in-law. Bud’s remains were entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Friends paid their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, March 2, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service was held Monday, March 3, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville, Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Interment will be at the Four Corners Cemetery in the spring. Donations in Bud’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Main Street Baptist Church. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca
