Royce H. Mills, 80, of Sackville and formerly of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Sackvifle Memorial Hospital on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Born in Indian Mountain, he was the son of the late Hanford and Clara (Dunston) Mills. Royce was a retired CN Conductor (36 years service), member of Acacia Lodge #49 F&AM, member of Parkside Baptist Church, Moncton, and attended Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville. He enjoyed wood working, hooking rugs, doing puzzles, camping, spending time at the trailer in Caisse Cape, enjoyed watching hockey and baseball with his grandchildren and spending quality time with his family. Royce will be sadly missed by his wife, Nita (Conrad) Mills; daughter, Rebecca Brooks (Wallace), Sackville; son, Brian (Dana), Moncton; grandchildren, Angela, Meghan and Markus (Kate); great grandchildren, Parker and Hannah; step children, Bill Conrad (Claire), Shediac; Brion Conrad (Susan), Edmonton, AB; Brent Conrad (Sandy), Dartmouth, NS; David Conrad, Murray Corner; Darren Conrad (Rosemary), Sackville; step grandchildren, Jason, Vanessa, Tiffany, Jacquie, Lyndsay, Timmy, Jordan, Macy, Jared, Dax and Liam; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, predeceased by his first wife, Mona (Sherwood) Mills (1999); sister, Irene; brothers, Winfield, Jenner and Newton. Visitation was at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995), on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. Acacia Lodge #49 F&AM, Memorial Service, Monday 6 p.m. The Funeral Service was held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday August 5, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Andrew Swanson officiating. Interment at Birch Hill Cemetery, Berry Mills. In Royce’s memory, donations to Parkside Baptist Church, Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Sackville Memorial Hospital Palliative Care or memorial of choice would be appreciated.
