Zora Mary (Spence) Read, age 91, of Murray Corner, passed away peacefully in the Westford Nursing Home on Saturday, February 21, 2009. Born in Murray Corner, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Annie (Robinson) Spence. Zora was a member of the Timber River Pentecostal Church. She was a teacher for many years, teaching in many of the local schools and abroad. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Vincent (Olive), Moncton; sisters, Kathleen Hamilton, Welland, ON, and Isla McGee, Sudbury, ON; and sister-in-law Gladys Spence, Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband, Lindsey; brothers, Courtney, Roy, Medley, Harold and Dana, and sister Dorothy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, N.B. (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from the Timber River Pentecostal Church on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 2 p.m., Pastor Carman Webb officiating. Burial to take place in the Fernwood cemetery in the spring. Those wishing to make a donation in Zora’s memory may do so to the Timber River Pentecostal Church or a charity of your choice.
