TORONTO - With her loving family by her side, the death of Darleen (Dobson) Locke, age 66, of Toronto, formerly of Amherst, occurred at her home on Saturday, August 16, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Amherst, Darleen moved to Ontario at a very young age, where she eventually took a position as a Teacher's Aide with the Toronto School Board. Her passions were working with children and cooking. Darleen will be sadly missed by Gerald Locke, her husband of 43 years; two daughters, Geraldine (Bob) Wilson and Ruby Locke; Nana's loving grandchildren, Samantha and William; sisters, and brothers, Jean (Doug) of Perth, Eddie, Tommie and Marion of Toronto, Frances (Bob), Dorothy and Herbie of Nova Scotia. A celebration of Darleen's life took place in at the Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 68 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777) on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at 1 p.m., Rev. Patti Blundell officiating.
