Peacefully, with her family by her side, Elsie Legere, age 93, of Sackville, passed away at the Drew Nursing Home on Saturday, January 24, 2009. Born in Middle Sackville in 1915, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Alice (McGraw) Lorette. She was a life long member of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Middle Sackville. Elsie loved to cook and shared her cooking with people in the community. She spent much of her time tending to her flower gardens. Elsie loved people and enjoyed entertaining and visiting with friends and neighbours. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Bertha MacKay, Amherst; grandson Nevin MacKay, great grandsons Mitchell and Brody; foster children Robert (Janice) Lorette, Shirley, Mass, USA, and Georgina (Roderick) Bainbridge, Dieppe, and both their families, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alphonse and brothers Albion, Frank, Levi, Laurie, Larry; sister Lorena. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB where visiting hours were held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the procession to the church. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. from St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville.
