Gerald A. "Jerry" Morse, 87, of Spring Street, Parrsboro passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Horace and Annie (Merriam) Morse. He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas in numerous capacities. He was a proud defender of Canadian democracy and an ardent activist for peace. He was a retired administrator with an import and export firm in Toronto. He is survived by his wife, the former Lieselotte 'Lilo' Elisabeth Rauscher; daughter, Maria DuBois (Mark), Hockley Valley, Ont.; son, Paul (Barbara), Ancaster, Ont.; grandchildren, Elisabeth and Christopher DuBois, Hockley Valley, Ont.; Emily and Peter Morse, Ancaster, Ont.; a sister, Margaret Beutel, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a brother, Paul, Parrsboro. He was predeceased by sister in law, Rhoda; a nephew, James Currie. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
