RIVER HEBERT - J. Garfield (Garf) Hoeg age 61, of River Hebert, N.S., passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Garfield and Mabel (Gower) Hoeg. Garf worked for Thompson Bros., in Amherst and New Glasgow for many years, He also worked for both Ray Crawford (Roofing & Siding) and w.w. Dowe Concrete Products. He was also self employed for a number of years. In his past time, Garf loved playing with his bulldog, Casey. He also enjoyed taking Jayden for drives on the four-wheeler and watching politics on the television. Garf was formally a Past Master of King Edward Lodge in River Hebert and a former volunteer fire fighter for the River Hebert Fire Department. He is survived by his wife the former Dorothy Joan Dobson; one daughter Dawn Marie Hoeg, one grandson Jayden Charles Hoeg; sisters Helen (Mel) Tower of River Hebert and Rita Gould of Amherst, brothers Aubrey (Pearl) Hoeg of Amherst; Lloyd (Marlene) Hoeg of New Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. Garf was predeceased by his mother in 2005 and his father in 1975, his maternal and paternal grandparents, his uncle Alfred Gower, aunt Jean MacDonald, brothers-in-law, Thomas Gould and William Campbell and a nephew Charles Hoeg. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2007 from 1-2 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Rev. Bob Mack will officiate. Interment will take place in the Hillside Cemetery, River Hebert, N.S. Family flowers only. Donations in Garf's memory may be made to the charity of your choice. www.campbells-amherst.ca
