Jessie Margaret Roberts Amherst - Jessie Margaret Roberts, age 87, of Amherst passed away Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Teddy and Margaret (Cormier) Gaudet. She was a stay at home Mom who loved playing cards, bingo, fishing and camping. Jessie had a passion for digging clams and enjoyed raking blueberries. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Jessie is survived by five daughters Freda Jesso of Saint John, N.B., Ada (Earl) Ayer of Fenwick , Marilyn (Gary) Jonah of Chignecto and Stella (Wallace) Chaisson of Tidnish and Diane Roberts of Amherst, four sons Jimmy (Rita) and Roger both of Saint John, Richard (Debbie) of Alberta and Wayne (Rachelle) of Amherst, 28 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, an infant son Allan, sisters Eliza Tattrie, Rose Dupuis, Mary Briggs, Albina MacDonald and Marie Gauthreau and one brother Aurelle Gaudet. Her remains rested at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service took place Monday, April 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery.
