R. Loring Kerr, age 100, of Fox River, Cumberland County passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Fox River, he was a son of the late Robert and Eva (Loring) Kerr. He was a retired mechanic with the Canadian Air Force retiring as Flight Sergeant. He later worked as a lumberman for many years. He is survived by a son, James, Toronto; stepdaughters, Estelle Larsen (Olaf); Ruth Allen (James) and Edith Allen (Douglas), all of Port Greville; Shirley Cormier, Amherst; stepson, Clair (Linda), Port Greville. He was predeceased by his first wife, the former Harriett Green in 1980; his second wife, Effie Allen in 1989; sisters, Marion, Evelyn, Isobel; brothers, John "Jack" and Joseph. Funeral service took place 2 p.m. Tuesday October 7, 2008 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Fox River, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
