Theresa B. Melanson RIVER?HEBERT - The death of Theresa B. Melanson, age 82, of River Hebert, occurred peacefully Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Gables Nursing Home, Amherst, where she received special care the last 5 years. Born in Joggins, she was the youngest daughter of the late Daniel and Olivia (Shanahan) Maloney. Theresa was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert and a member of the CWL. Theresa will be greatly missed by her husband of 52 years, Dara, River Hebert and by her daughter, Barbara (John) Carter, Brookdale, NS; four grandchildren, Daniel, Brittany, Jillian and Meghan, who were the highlight of her later years and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John, James and Hugh and by sisters, Annie Scopie and Mary Burbine. The remains were entrusted into the care of the River Hebert and Joggins Community Funeral Home (251-2877) from where visitation was held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass was celebrated on Monday, December 31, 2007 from St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert at 10 am, Rev. Fr. David MacDonald officiating. Burial in the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie, in the Spring.
