Hughes, Valerie Glee, 58, of Truro, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late James Grant and Eleanor (Hemeon) Brown. Valerie was a member of D.C.S.C., Disable Consumers Society of Colchester and a member of the Arthritis Society. She worked for several years at Nelson Cleaner’s as a seamstress.
She is survived by a son Jim (Glenda) of North River; daughter Melissa (Jenny) of Truro; grandchildren, Logan, Kyle, Nick, Jayda; brothers, Grant Brown (Lyn) of Valley, Tony Brown of Botwood, NL; sisters Marleine Brown and Penny Brown, both of Truro; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 7-9 Sunday and funerals service 2 pm Monday, April 6th, all in Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Brian DeLong will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Valerie’s memory may be made to the Arthritis Society.
