(Nov. 2, 1934 - April 1, 2009) — Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s in his 74th year. Predeceased by his wife Lucy (nee Connors), his parents Catherine (Coffey) and Henry Nash, his guardians Aunt Carrie (Nash) and Uncle Edward Brennan, his sister Mary Power and brother Stephen Nash. Leaving to mourn his two daughters: Paulette (Hiroshima, Japan) and Caroline and her fiancé Bill Chaulk (Lewisporte); his sisters: Rita Roche of Branch; Teresa Gelinas, St. Catherine’s, Ontario; and Evelyn Dudas, Toronto, Ontario; and brother George Nash, Surrey, BC; foster sister Barbara (Hank Howlett) Athens, Texas; special nephew Jerry (Pauline Power) of Branch; friends Kevin Power, Fred Roche, Pat and Jeanette Mooney; a number of other relatives and friends; the caretakers and staff of the Gateway Residence, Dunville. Resting at Coombs Funeral Home, Placentia, Sunday, April 5, beginning at 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place Monday, April 6, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Patricks Cove. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Patrick’s Cove.
