MARTIN (PORD) - Therese Cecile, age 81 years with family by her side passed away March 19, 2009, at Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home. She is survived by her children: Myrna Beckman (2 children) Laureen and Shawn, Diane (Dennis) Corbin (3 children) Ernie, Pam, and Darren, Ron (Annette) Martin (3 children) Kathy, Rhonda and Louis, Evelyn Martin (Rick), Laurent (Paulette) Martin (2 children) Sheldon and Nicole; as well as 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Julie (Dayton) Hulbert; brother Hector (Gene) Pord; sisters-in-law, Paula Whan, Margaret Lacoursiere, Lucille Hymen; brothers-in-law, Raymond and Leon Martin; as well as many nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by her loving husband Fern Martin; son Raymond Martin; parents William and Laura Pord; sister Laurette Shaw; and brother Armand Pord. Terry was born in Ponteix SK, on November 9, 1927. She attended school at Royer Country School, and then finished her education at the convent. On January 12, 1948, she married Fern Martin in Ponteix. In Terry’s younger days she worked at Lacelle’s grocery store, Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina, then in Eston. When she moved back to Ponteix Terry did housecleaning, worked for Ponteix Union Hospital and Ponteix Co-op, she also worked for Fern and Evelyn at the Martin Café, but her greatest passion was driving the school bus. Terry main job was helping Fern on the family farm. Terry was an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Legion and President of the Red Cross for many years. Terry’s social interests were: bowling, playing cards, reading, camping and of course everybody knows curling, as well as going for coffee with her many friends. Donations can be made in Terry’s memory to Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home. The funeral service was held on March 27, 2009, at 2:00pm from Notre Dame d’Auvergne Roman Catholic Church with Father Raymond Carignan. Eulogist was Rick Pord, ushers were Louis and Sheldon Martin (grandsons) Urn Bearer – Rhonda Kiss, Cross- bearer was Laureen Martin Ortlepp. Honorary pallbearers were all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
