August 18, 1948 - April 7, 2009. Passed peacefully away at the G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 7, 2009, Ashton Short of Shoal Harbour in his 60th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife Donna; daughter Ashley and boyfriend Andrew Dyke of Paradise; Son Allan of Mount Pearl, Brothers: Lloyd and wife Gloria of St. John’s, Bond and wife Gladys, Wayne Short, Doug and wife Bridgett, Rod and wife Collett all of Shoal Harbour; Sisters: Joan and husband Owen Jacobs of Lewisporte, Florence and husband Merlin Stanley of Shoal Harbour, Dianne and husband Gary Dwyer of Lewisporte. Mother in-law Doris King; Sister-in-law Barb White (Doug); Brothers-in-law: Gordon King (Sharon), David King (Trudy), special friends Ivor Balsom and Howard Ellsworth. Plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Mildred and Joshua Short, sister-in-law Nita Short. Resting at Blundon’s Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour from Tuesday April 7 from 8 - 10 and Wednesday from 10 - 10. Funeral service to take place from Shoal Harbour United Church on Thursday April 9 at 2 PM with interment following at Milton/George’s Brook Cemetery.
