SMITH, Ruth Elaine - 88, Halifax, passed away March 31 at Maplestone Enhanced Care.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter Harding and Florence (Crosby) Langille.
She was a member of the Sheffield Baptist Church and lifetime member of the UBWMU - Sydney United Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed a good game of bridge and spending time with family and friends.
Survived by her daughters, Elaine (Peter) Hatt, Chester Basin; Nancy (Larry) MacInnis, Halifax; Florence (Claude Vickery) Smith, Toronto; grandchildren, Jane, Linda, Phillip, Janet, Laura, Clifford; great-grandchildren, Sidney and Brooke Taylor; Aiden MacInnis; many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband, Sidney Smith; brothers, Lyman, Alton, Benny, and Keith.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM Thursday, April 8 and memorial service 2:30 PM Friday, April 9 with reception to follow, all from J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive. Rev. Dan Green and Pastor Henry Grift officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
