John Joseph Laffin, 73, a resident of Stevens Rest Home, North Sydney, formerly of Bras d’Or, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Bras d’Or, he was the son of the late Daniel & Mary Ellen (Tobin) Laffin.
He is survived by his sisters Ella Mae (Sylvester) Marsh, Mill Creek & Marie Nunn, Bras d’Or; his brothers Nickie Laffin, Bras d’Or, Bobby Laffin, Millville & Pat (Gennie) Laffin, Point Aconi.
He was predeceased by his sisters Frances Snow, Irene Steele, Laura Fraser & Mary Genevieve Laffin and his brothers William, Terrance and Danny.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or with Father Peter McLeod officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery.
