Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, April 12, 2009, of Mrs. Denise Marie DesRoches, beloved wife of the late Stanis DesRoches of Tignish, age 99 years. Born May 22, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Sisome and Julia (Nee Arsenault) Gallant. Dear mother to Howard (Agatha) of Charlottetown; Wilfred (Erma) of Toronto, Marie (Glen) Smith, of Winsloe, Alma (late Marcus) Hackett of Tignish. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great-great grandchildren and by nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Alice Perry, of Peterville. She will also by sadly missed by her caregivers, Cathy and Vernon Corrigan of DeBlois, with whom she resided. She was predeceased by a daughter, Eva DesRoches, and by a son, Joseph, and by brothers and sisters, Phillip, Ida, Peter, Joseph, Ernest, Olive, Edna, and Mary Anne. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Monday evening 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Tuesday morning, April 14, from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 11 am. Interment later in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Western Hospital equipment fund would be gratefully appreciated. The St. felix council of the C.W.L will have prayers for their departed member at the funeral home Monday evening at 5:40 p.m.
