The family of Stanley David Ingraham, 62, regret to announce the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather on April 11, 2009.
Born in Inverness, he was the son of the late Jepthe and Margaret (MacLeod) Ingraham.
Stanley spent his entire life in Margaree Valley where he served on various boards of community service including the Credit Union, Co-op, and the Northeast Margaree Volunteer Fire Department. The greater part of his work life was spent in the forestry industry. At the time of his passing, he was manager of North Inverness Forest Management and president of the Federation of Nova Scotia Woodlot Owners. He was a long serving member and elder of Margaree Valley Baptist Church.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joan (Ripley); his children, Leanne (Ray) MacMillan, Sydney, Andrea (Shane) Ross, Antigonish, Joel (Alana) Ingraham, Windsor, Ont. and Jordan (Ruth) Ingraham, Margaree Valley and his 10 grandchildren, Katie, Jocelyn, Jacob, Owen; Kallie, Callum, Karys, Corson; Dylan, and Jared. He is also survived by two brothers, Nelson, Margaree Valley and Allan Antigonish; one sister, Nancy (Bernie) Hawley, Dartmouth; several nieces and nephews and mother-in-law, Marjorie Ripley, Sydney.
He was predeceased by his brother Melvin.
He will also be missed by his beloved pet Heidi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. at Margaree Valley Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at Margaree Valley Baptist Church with pastors Hugh Morrison and Pierre Chiasson officiating. Burial will follow in the Margaree Valley Baptist Cemetery.
Funeral service is entrusted to the direction and care of the Sunset Funeral Cooperative, Margaree Valley.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Arms of Jesus Children’s Mission Inc, Cape Breton Bible Camp or Margaree Valley Baptist Church.
