On April 10 2009, Robert George Kempf passed away peacefully at the age of 95 while sleeping. Predeceased by his first wife Pat (Hunter) and parents Jakob and Katharina, brother Reinhold, sister Katherine and brother-¬in-law John Archer. Robert is survived by daughter Ruth (Leonard) and grandsons Richard and David (Joanne) and great-grandsons Dale and Derrick; son Fred (Frances) and grandson Paul; sisters Elsie (Archer), Sarah Rau (Jim); brother Fred; and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert can be remembered for his love of farming, horses and raising cattle. In the early years when farming was done with horses, he would obtain the loan of unbroken horses from the Fisher ranch. For the price of breaking these horses to harness he had the use of the animals for a year. As a child he moved with his family from Alberta to the Prelate district. From there he moved to the Coderre district where he eventually farmed for many years. After retiring he lived in several places including Moose Jaw, Vibank and lastly in Regina. Robert married Helen Paidel at the age of 80 and sadly they separated in his 89th year. A sincere thank you to all the staff at the Regina Lutheran Home for the wonderful care they provided. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel in Moose Jaw on Thursday April 16, 2009 at 10:30 am. Reverend Dennis Fingas will officiate. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday evening 7 – 9 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment will be made at the Mossbank Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a charity of choice would be appreciated. In living memory of Robert, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
