It is with great sadness we the family, announce the sudden passing of Ruth Lydia MacFarlane, 84, at home, on April 10, 2009.
Ruth was born at Ross Ferry, the daughter of the late J. Fraser and Margaret (Matheson) MacKenzie.
Ruth was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Ross Ferry. She was also a member of the Munro Crafters Guild for a number of years.
She is survived by her son Glenn (Donna), of Whitecourt, Alberta; grandsons, Justin of Sydney Mines, and Curtis of Boularderie; step grandchildren, Tammy and Shari, several great grandchildren; also by her brothers, Christopher of Baddeck, Rindress (Gavinna) of Boularderie East, Fraser of North Sydney; sisters-in-law, Margaret MacKenzie and Arabel MacKenzie, both of Ross Ferry, and by many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Russell, son Bruce; sister Mary and brothers, Sandy, Hector and Raymond.
Visitation for Ruth will be Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service will take place Wednesday, 2 p.m. from Knox Presbyterian Church, Ross Ferry, with Rev. Ritchie Robinson, officiating. Burial at a later date in MacDonald Cemetery.
