Robin June Metz (nee Rideout) was born on June 8th, 1932 in St. Johns, Newfoundland, the only daughter of Willis George & Pearl Elizabeth (Squires) Rideout. She was promoted to Glory on March 24th, 2009 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 76 years.

Robin will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gwennie (Gary) Johnson, Cal (Karen) Metz, Barbie Metz and Celia (Jamie) Foster; four grandchildren, Tim and Joel Foster and Michael and Calvin Te-Djane; one brother, Stan Rideout and numerous extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Calvin Metz, and two brothers, David Rideout and Bob Rideout.

During Cecil’s service in the RCAF, he and Robin moved to various posts in the USA and Canada. After retiring from the RCAF, Cecil joined the Department Of External Affairs and Robin served with him at Canadian Embassies in Washington, DC, Tel Aviv, Israel, Moscow, USSR, Havana, Cuba and Baghdad, Iraq. After retiring from External Affairs, they retired to Irvine, Alberta where Robin served as Mayor for one year. After the death of her husband, she moved to Vernon, B.C. Robin was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church, where she played piano and praised God for the gift of salvation and her fellowship with Jesus.
