Peacefully at the Palliative Care unit of Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, of Gordon Wesley Lewis of Northport, age 77 years. Beloved husband of Lily (nee Henderson Adams) Lewis. Born at Brooklyn, P.E.I, on May 22, 1932, he was the son of the late Russell and Ruth (nee Oliver) Lewis. He is survived by 11 children, whom all reside in the U.S.A., Wesley, Deborah, Robert, Wade, Gloria, Dwight, Cheryl, Ross, Brian, John and Heather. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Chester (Ferne) Adams, Alberton, Darlene (Jerry) Blanchard of Elmsdale, Allen (Janet) Adams of Alberton, Karen (James) MacDonald of Lethbridge, Alta., Cathy (David) Lidstone of Coleman, Sandra (Glenn) Ellis of Alberton, Glenn (Angela) Adams of Alberton. Dear brother to Edna MacAuley of Flordia and Miscouche. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren and stepgrandchildren. Along with his parents Russell and Ruth Lewis he was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn and by a brother-in-law, Robert MacAuley. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday morning from the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene for funeral service at 11 a.m. Pastor Sheila McCrea-MacCallum and Pastor Jeff Price officiating. Interment in the church of the Nazarene Cemetery. If so desired memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, The Island Hospice (West Prince Divison) or to the Elmsdale Church of the Nazarene Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated.
