Ruby passed away April 7, 2009 at Humber River Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Sydney on September 24, 1956, she was the loving daughter of Donald and Edith (Butler) Lewis of Birch Street, Sydney.
Ruby was the beloved wife of Nick; loving mother of Jennifer and fiancé, Anthony Delpero; dear sister of John (Nancy), Peterborough, Diane (Randy), MacDonald, Sydney River, Valerie Cooke, Middle River, Margie (Dave) Gillis, Whitney Pier and Debbie (Eric) Christmas, Halifax; sisters-in-law, Rosa and Joanne Pallotta, both of Toronto; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially Paula and Alixe, both of Sydney.
Predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Wilfred and Ruby (Bishop) Butler; her paternal grandparents, Herbert and Annie Lewis, all of Sydney.
Ruby will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her love of family and friends and her dedication to her cats, Puck and Oreo.
She was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed working on her many crafts.
Visitation was held at Jerrett Funeral Home, Toronto, April 11 and 12, 2009. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Thornhill. Entombment was held at Prospect Cemetery, Toronto.
