At the Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague on Friday, April 17, 2009, of Alexis “Al” William Shumate of Lower Montague, age 90 years. Beloved husband of Jean Shumate (nee Hollingshurst). Dear father of Michael (Mary), Kingston, Ont., and Cathy MacLeod-Shumate, Lower Montague. Loving grandfather of Jason Mickey, Nathan, Jerod, Adam and Spencer Shumate, Bethany Wiest, Elizabeth Smith, Erin Porter and Laura Meredith and 18 great-grandchildren. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home from where the service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. Interment later in the Murray River Cemetery.
