On April 17, 2009, the family and friends of Stanley Crane were deeply saddened by his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Yet our hearts are lightened, as he has found peace after suffering much illness and pain due to cancer.
Stan was a native of Sydney, the son of the late Arthur and Mary Ann (MacKinnon) Crane, Victoria Road.
He leaves to mourn two brothers, Bill (Mary), Island View, and Rod (Loretta), Sydney; son, B.J., Sydney as well as life-long friend, Faye Pretty, Boston, Mass. Stan is also survived by several nieces and nephews, their families and numerous relatives ad friends.
Besides his parents and many aunts and uncles, Stan was predeceased by his only sister, Mary (the late Lorne Glessing), four brothers, Arthur, Joseph, Michael and Kenneth.
At Stan’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. There will be a reception to follow at the funeral home.
