PISIAK – Wednesday, April 5, 2009, Helen Gladys Pisiak (Taylor) went home to be with her Lord and loved ones. Helen fought a valiant fight displaying courage and strength. Helen was born on June 15, 1937, in Englefeld, SK, on the family farm. She stated school at Greenside school then continued her education in Englefeld. Helen married Melvin Emil Pisiak on September 15, 1954, and they moved to Swift Current shortly thereafter. Emil and Helen were blessed with four children, Doug (Barb) Pisiak, Annetta (Murray) Jaster, Kevin Pisiak (Maria Huckle), Lane Pisiak (Lanette Thoreson); nine grandchildren: Scott, Ryan, Kari, Dean, Chris, Kelly, Mitch, Calla, Cassidy; and eleven great grandchildren: Kendall, Bree, Rhynn, Sasha, :Landon, Kayla, Austin, Bailey, Kale, Kaitlin and Kaden. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Emil on May 17, 1983; her father, Raymond Taylor on December 21, 1974; her mother, Mabel Taylor on December 14, 1989; and her great grandson, Logan Pisiak on December 15, 1989. Helen was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher and a Beaver Leader. Helen loved to ice skate, garden, crochet, camp and spend time with her family. Helen had a passion for country music and spent many enjoyable times at Craven. Helen fiercely loved and protected her family and was our greatest ally. Helen’s favourite quote was, “Don’t worry, it will be okay.†A memorial service was held for Helen on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Salvation Army Church with Major Murray Jaster officiating. Music was provided by Risen FromThe Ashes, a band consisting of her son-in-law and three grandsons. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
